My R&S signal generator (SMS) is a very nice generator but output power is limited to +13 dBm and sometimes you need more ….
So I bought through the mighty Internet a 40 dB gain amplifier module and mounted this into an enclosure.
A new heatsink was installed since the original one did not really fit into the new enclosure.
In saturation the module gives about 31 dBm on 145 MHz and 29 dBm on 432 MHz but the harmonics are all over the place.
In reality it adds about 13-14 dB to the original SMS output without too much distortion.
In the picture above the amp is swept with -20 dBm input and is not saturated, at 1500 MHz the gain is only 10 dB.
